Lars Flora and Lindsey Weier Win 10/15KM Classic Races
at CXC Super Tour at Telemark Resort

Racer’s were greeted at bib pickup this morning with a jumbo screen wire to wire video of the A final at the Estonian World Cup. Seeing Koos, Newell and Cook doing so well had everyone fired up and excited to get after it. Temperatures were in the low single digits but the sun was shining for the 10/15km Classical interval start CXC Super Tour at Telemark Resort

There were no surprises today as Overall Super Tour leaders: Caitlin Compton and Lars Flora again set the times to beat in the 5/10km Freestyle. Both Compton and Flora are members of the US 2007 World Championships Team to compete in Sapporo, Japan in mid February.

Valaas and Flora win CXC Super Tour Sprint at Telemark Resort

A small but competitive field gathered at Telemark Resort on Wednesday for the CXC Super Tour Freestyle Sprint. The course wound up and down the base of Mt. Telemark on a mixture of natural and manmade snow with the top eight qualifying for the heats.

  Valaas and Strabel win Captiol Square Classic Sprint

With 75 meters to go Eric Strabel of APU jumped from 3rd place to pass Kevin Hochtl of Rossignol and narrowly edge Colin Rodgers of FsX who led nearly the entire race to the line. Bryan Cook of CXC finished 4th. Strabel’s win today will give him the leader’s jersey in the Super Tour Sprint and Central Grand Prix competition.
Team CXC and Team APU bring home Capitol Square Team Sprint Titles

The first few laps of the team sprints saw some intense action and tight competition with a narrow course, sharp corners and a steep uphill provided by a specially constructed bridge. Each skier raced five, one kilometer legs, and leads changed often as the stop and go course filled racers legs with lactate.
Hochtl and Valaas dash to win Capitol Square Sprints 100 Meter

At 6pm Friday night Wisconsin’s Capitol looked pretty empty, but by 8pm a ribbon of beautiful white snow attracted spectators and skiers for the Capitol Square Sprints. The World 100M cross-country skiing sprint record held strong on Friday night, against a talented field.
